Project Overview

AGM Group was proud to be appointed by long-term client David Lloyd Leisure to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment at their Newhaven Club in Edinburgh.

This project focused on transforming key areas within the club, including:

  • A brand-new Mind & Body Suite
  • A redesigned Clubroom area
  • A modern Business Hub
  • A high-energy Blaze Studio for HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

Challenges

The refurbishment was carried out within a live, operational environment, requiring careful phasing and planning to minimise disruption to members while ensuring safety and progress.

Key challenges included:

  • Phased construction to keep multiple club areas open and operational
  • Close coordination with club management to align with scheduled activities
  • Designing and delivering complete construction and M&E works across all new spaces
  • Managing safe site access for both club users and the logistics of material and equipment deliveries
  • Construction of an 11-metre-high fire-rated partition, built to meet stringent fire regulations and architectural requirements

Our Approach

AGM Group collaborated closely with the David Lloyd management team and supply chain throughout the project.

By adhering to a clear, milestone-driven program and remaining highly proactive, we ensured that each stage was completed on time and to a high standard. Our integrated approach—combining construction expertise with in-house M&E capabilities—was key to delivering a seamless, high-end refurbishment.

We also maintained open communication with club members and management, ensuring a respectful and minimally disruptive working environment.
