Project Description

As part of our ongoing partnership with David Lloyd Leisure Clubs across the UK, AGM Group was proud to deliver the full refurbishment of the first-floor gym at David Lloyd Farnham, Surrey.

The Project

The refurbishment created a state-of-the-art fitness space, complete with:

  • A fully upgraded lighting solution
  • Premium flooring throughout
  • The latest luxury cardiovascular, strength and free-weight equipment
  • Advanced audio-visual systems
  • Enhanced ventilation, heating and cooling for member comfort

To further elevate the member experience, the new gym was designed to take full advantage of its stunning views across the club’s indoor pool – reinforcing David Lloyd’s commitment to providing a premium environment for its members.

Challenges

Delivering this project presented several logistical and structural challenges, including:

  • Location & access: The site’s distance from London required meticulous organisation to avoid delays, while the first-floor location demanded efficient removal of existing equipment and finishes with sustainable disposal solutions.
  • Structural works: The introduction of heavy new weight equipment and steel rigs required significant floor strengthening, which had to be carefully planned and executed early in the programme.

Our Approach

AGM Group worked collaboratively with the client and design team to define clear deliverables and milestones from the outset. Key success factors included:

  • Rigorous programme management and regular progress monitoring
  • Early procurement of materials, labour and specialist contractors to ensure seamless delivery
  • Full responsibility for mechanical and electrical installations, with all design elements completed in advance to guarantee smooth on-site implementation

The Result

The transformation of David Lloyd Farnham’s gym was completed on time and to the highest standard. Both the client and club members praised the upgraded facility, which combines cutting-edge equipment, premium finishes and a welcoming atmosphere.
